Everyone is anxious for change — in many ways — and that’s what you can expect this month. June delivers both a Solar and a Lunar Eclipse, which bring urgent matters to the forefront and signals a change of direction. Any time an eclipse occurs there’s the potential for powerful evolution in our lives. This eclipse month gives us the chance to take situations into our own hands, making necessary adjustments for our growth and elevation. By successfully navigating change we can steer more confidently forward, reaching greater peace, positivity and prosperity for our future.
Eclipses occur when the Sun, Moon and Earth come into alignment, and denote times of important metamorphosis. Be it personal or global events, these stellar occasions reveal areas requiring attention, alterations, re-working or releasing in order for us to move ahead with further hope, health and harmony. Eclipses challenge us to be more conscious of our thoughts, aware of our actions and mindful of what we are creating around us. As we change our focus, our outlook and world changes also!
In the weeks ahead we can expect big shifts to take place. How we deal with it and react to it determines how well we can use it to our advantage. * 6 June (5 in U.S.A.): Full Moon in Sagittarius/Lunar Eclipse — Forceful Feelings! This is a time of culmination, where our emotions are heightened and our feelings are emphasized. With a strong connection to Mars, this can be a testing time requiring more patience and self-control. Impulsive actions and inner tensions can bring about conflicts as the Sun and Moon oppose each other. Like a regular Full Moon only stronger, this Lunar Eclipse highlights domestic issues, home, family and loved ones — and our interactions with them. Relationship dynamics will be accentuated. We are encouraged now to share our feelings with others while also being mindful of what others are feeling and needing. At a time when so many are encouraging division and strife, we can open our minds to explore more expansive beliefs and positive philosophies. Release now any negative emotions or inhibitions when it comes to self expression, and make room for more positive growth in our feelings and intuitive lives.
* 18 June (17th in U.S.A): Mercury in Cancer goes Retrogrades — Re-examining our hearts! With the planet ruling our thoughts and communications going backwards in the sensitive sign of Cancer, we are prompted to reexamine how we share our emotions and express our intuitive natures. Home, family, relationships and domestic situations will be a focus at this time. We are urged to encourage our inner voice and be more mindful of not only our feelings, but the feelings of others. Find ways to express your emotions — intuitively, creativity, or spiritually — to strengthen your sensitive side. Reflect and reconsider what is and isn’t working in your private life and what needs fixing when it comes to your emotional needs. As with any Mercury Retrograde period, this is a time of re-examination as well as greater introspection, contemplation, meditation and future planning — with the goal of implementing any activity after Mercury goes Direct. It’s also a good time to double check details, reconfirm plans and postpone major decisions until Mercury is Direct. Mercury will be Retrograde in Cancer until 12 July 2020. Mercury will remain in Cancer until 5 August 2020.
* 21 June (20th in U.S.A): Sun into Cancer/Solar Eclipse — Solstice Seasonal Salute! Welcome the first official day of summer for the Northern Hemisphere and the first of winter in the Southern. This marks a turning point in the cycle of the year and in our lives. We now open to new beginnings with greater expectation for the season ahead. As the Sun moves into Cancer and is turbo-charged with an Eclipse, we are urged to pay more attention to security issues, emotionally and physically, with ourselves and those in our lives. Honour the start of this new season by enriching your connection to others, joining with those you care about and encouraging a feeling of greater nurturing all around. As we celebrate the Solstice be mindful of how you can cultivate greater feelings of support, kindness and love for those in your life — as well as for yourself! The Sun will be in Cancer until 22 July 2020.
* 21 June (20th in U.S.A): New Moon in Cancer/ Solar Eclipse — Emotional Epiphany! New Moons represent beginnings and in the feeling and caring sign of Cancer this Lunar light encourages renewal of our nurturing instincts and sensitive expressions. The New Moon is also a Solar Eclipse — turbo charging our feelings as we strive for recovery and seek greater awareness of what is needed in our lives for further safety and security. With Saturn making a connection to the Sun and Moon there will be a need for greater responsibility, caution and prudence. Issues regarding home, family, domestic issues and life changes are emphasized now. Additionally, we are strongly encouraged to make use of our intuition, idealism and imagination to further our need for comfort, protection and peace of mind. Start something today that will help support and honour your feelings while contributing to your emotional foundations. Allow this powerful time to initiate a new period of compassion, love, understanding and care — for ourselves and those around us.
* 23 June (22nd in U.S.A): Neptune in Pisces goes Retrograde — Intuitive Reflection! As the planet ruling our intuition, dreams and creativity starts its Retrograde motion, we are urged to look inward, find more compassion, sympathetic understanding and healing. In its ruling sign of Pisces, this Neptune “backwards” motion encourages us to honour more of our spiritual awareness, artistic expression and sensitive emotions. Greater appreciation for the beauty around us as well as within us is highlighted. We-are-all-one feelings are emphasized along with further need for humanitarian expression. Readdressing ways to embrace further world awareness, universal connection and the breaking down of barriers is emphasized and encouraged. Neptune will be Retrograde until 29 November 2020 and will continue its journey through Pisces until 31 March 2025.
* 25 June (24th in U.S.A): Venus in Gemini goes Direct — Loving the Connection! With the planet ruling affection, enjoyment and creativity moving forward in the sign emphasizing communications, we have a deeper need to connect with others, express our thoughts, share our feelings and communicate our intentions for greater happiness and fulfillment. For the next six weeks we are more eager to interact and show off our flirtatious side while feeling confident in conversing with like-minded others! Use this period to discuss similar feelings on values, beauty, artistry and attraction — while connecting with new love interests and interesting new friends! This is also a good time to consider your personal values — because our possessions, finances and principles are a direct result of how we feel about ourselves. Venus will be in Gemini until 8 August 2020.
* 28 June (27th in U.S.A): Mars goes into Aries — Create Your Adventure! This is the celestial signal to finally embark on the adventure, new direction or independent action you have been hoping for! Greater courage can be tapped now to do the thing you have always wanted to do! We are able to be more direct in our self-expression, take on new physical regimes and embark on pioneering ways of advancement. Embrace new liberation and expression of your independence now! For the next month we have the opportunity to really rev our engines to move past any adversity and make big strides forward. The key to success during this time is patience and planning though — think before doing for the best outcome! Mars will be in Aries until 7 January 2021.
* The Outer Planets stay in a sign for a longer period of time, so their effect on us is more gradual, but significant none the less. Here they are in their current positions:
* Jupiter in Capricorn is Retrograde: With the expansiveness of Jupiter now Retrograding in the serious and sober sign of Capricorn, we will be reviewing matters regarding the structures, resources and securities of our lives. This Retrograde period is a time of reflection and introspection on what represents growth and success in our lives. This is a time to reconsider the path that we are on and to readdress our futures with greater down-to-earth practicality. Issues highlighting the appropriate handing of responsibility, duty and accountability — especially from those in power — come into focus and will need to be addressed. This significant transit indicates that extra time, attention and thought to the details of life and what is required to take stock of important issues will be needed before growth and advancement can be achieved. Jupiter will be Retrograde until 13 September 2020. Jupiter will be in Capricorn until 20 December 2020.
* Saturn in Aquarius is Retrograde: With Saturn in Aquarius going Retrograde we will be refocusing concern for our society, each other and our life on this Earth. Greater humanitarian, socially empathetic and altruistic endeavours will be sought after. This cycle will focus on gaining greater awareness of the importance of each individual, urging us to cultivate more tolerance, broad-mindedness, liberalism and working toward a collective consciousness. As this planet representing structure, stability, responsibilities and those in ‘positions of power’ is Retrograde, we’ll be focusing on reworking our guidelines and leadership direction for the time ahead. In the innovative sign of Aquarius (and then backing into Capricorn), Saturn will be urging us to reconsider what is no longer working in our lives and what we can do to improve ourselves and our course of action now for a better future tomorrow. This is a time of considerable social change, but also research into new methods for solving old problems and revamping technological and scientific projects. Saturn is the teacher — asking us to be responsible — and helping us to grow through past mistakes, failures and hardships. By using the knowledge that we gain from these experiences, we can acquire greater wisdom, self awareness, patience and finally, advancement. Saturn in Aquarius Retrogrades back into Capricorn 2 July 2020, then goes Direct in Capricorn on 29 September and then finally back into Aquarius on 17 December 2020. It will remain in Aquarius until 7 March 2023.
* Uranus is in Taurus: The planet signifying change, revolution and innovation is moving through the sign representing its opposite — stability, assurance and safeguarding! For the next 7 years this Uranus/Taurus pairing highlights liberation from the customary way of doing things in favor of new methods and inventive techniques. Also, as Taurus rules our personal values, creativity, material goods, finances, food and general enjoyment, we will see new innovations in these areas. Uranus will seek to shift the security-conscious/money-minded principles of the Bull by remodeling the way we handle our resources, material wealth and investment interests. We can expect a new wave of economic innovation helping us to focus on being more authentic and practical in our approach to things. Shifting themes of how we view stability will certainly be a feature in our future, so expect change, revolution and acts of defiance. Be ready to adapt rather than fighting to hang onto the old ways of being! Remember: Change equals opportunity! Uranus will be going Retrograde until 11 January 2020 and will be in the sign of Taurus until 7 July 2025.
* Neptune is in Pisces (going Retrograde 23 June): The planet ruling dreams and creativity continues its transit through its ruling sign of Pisces, encouraging us to honour more of our spiritual awareness, artistic inspiration and intuitive insight! Greater appreciation for the beauty around us as well as within us is also emphasized. We are urged to feel and express greater “we-are-all-one” compassion toward ourselves and others — along with further sympathetic understanding and involvement with humanitarian endeavours. Greater focus on our faith, spirituality and need for understanding of one another is highlighted! As Neptune goes Retrograde, we will be urged to readdress all the above issues and re-evaluate how we plan to manifest our future hopes and dreams. Greater focus on our faith, spirituality and need for global understanding is highlighted! Neptune will be in Pisces until 31 March 2025 and Retrograding until 29 November 2020.
* Pluto is in Capricorn going Retrograde As the planet of Transformation continues its long journey through this sober sign, going Retrograde from now until 3 October 2020, we get serious about making positive changes to ourselves, our leaders and our world. The overall theme of this cycle is uncovering the misuse of power, greed and corruption to bring reform and grow our overall progress. It represents a major time of rediscovery, review and reconsideration that brings transformation to our society, government, world order and Mother Earth. It also pushes us to think about the changes we want to make to our belief structures and our power as individuals and as citizens of the world. Pluto will continue to be in Capricorn until 24 March 2023.
* Chiron is in Aries: As the minor planet/comet Chiron, connected to the archetype of the “wounded healer” moves through the independent, assertive and aggressive fire sign of Aries, our identities are highlighted. During this time we’ll have greater opportunity to overcome personal obstacles, discover new strength, manifest healing and further self confidence. Chiron is said to act as a link between the conscious and unconscious and as such, can represent transformation in body, mind and soul. As we surmount challenges, we find greater empowerment, advancing our unique spirits while manifesting more of our dreams. Chiron will be in Aries until 2027.
