This month, for the first time in 26 years, the planet Saturn enters Aquarius! This powerful pairing (the planet of structure in the sign of liberation!) signifies a break from the customary way of doing things, in favor of new methods and innovative techniques. As Saturn transits back and forth in Aquarius for the next 3 years, we will seek to shift our security-conscious, rule-orientated and status-quo values to a more global, humanitarian and socially concerned energy. We’ll become more aware of the importance of each individual in the larger scheme of things — with a focus on tolerance and equality among all people.
Saturn, often called “Father Time” in Astrology, stands for responsibilities, security, regulations and the lessons that help us grow. The sign of Aquarius represents humanitarian energy, pioneering viewpoints and technological innovations. Together, these two dynamic energies can bring a reordering of structures, renewed commitment toward world-minded services and an effort to unite us intellectually, scientifically and technologically. Rather than holding on to the old ways of doing, being and thinking, we’ll have greater opportunity for new discoveries, global progress and altruistic innovation.

* 5 March (4th in U.S.A): Mercury retrogrades into Aquarius — Back Up Your Plans! The planet of communication dips back into Aquarius for a quick visit before it starts moving forward again. This is an advantageous time to review your visions, rework your ideas, restructure your projects and back up your plans! As with all Mercury Retrograde times, extra care and consideration to what you are working on is advised along with knowing that things can fluctuate! Also, being patient, going with the flow and being adaptable saves frustration and helps things run smoother! Change is in the air, so allow extra time, double check details, be patient and most of all: be flexible!
* 5 March (4th in U.S.A): Venus goes into Taurus — Empowered Emotional Security! With the Goddess of Love planet moving through her ruling sign of Taurus, we have the opportunity to empower our emotional security! We can now get a clearer understanding of what we need to support our feelings and raise our affections. Use this beneficial period to figure out what will bring you the lasting love and joy you desire. The clearer you are about what you really want the easier it will be to manifest! This is a strong period for not only focusing on stability in love, wealth and creative connections, but also appreciating greater happiness and sensuality too! Realize that the way to heart-fulfillment is not only feeling ‘safe’ and understood by another, but by expressing yourself through your senses. In the weeks ahead we can show more affection for those in our lives as well as attracting to us what we need for greater love and prosperity! * 10 March (9th in U.S.A): Full Moon in Virgo — You’re Already Perfect! This large lunar light in the detailed and perfectionistic sign of Virgo brings health, well-being and self-critiquing into view. In our quest to be better, we’re often critical of ourselves or impatient with our progress. This is a reminder that we shouldn’t pick ourselves apart in the pursuit of perfection. You already are perfect! Consider all that you have accomplished, experienced and surmounted in life. These contribute much more to your beautiful soul’s growth than a list of what’s lacking! Although this Virgo Full Moon helps us scope out the nuances of life, it cautions us not to be too analytical or nit-picky — with ourselves or others. This time is best used for getting rid of the clutter that takes up our time, space and energy. By releasing whatever is clogging our emotional, spiritual or physical health, we can move freely toward a more perfect, happy and holistic YOU!
* 10 March (9th in U.S.A): Mercury in Aquarius Goes Direct — Creative Innovation! With the planet of communications now moving Direct from its Retrograde pattern, we too can advance our goals and dreams! In freedom-thinking and artistically-inventive sign of Aquarius, a colorful window of opportunity for new innovation and greater self discovery opens wide! We’re now encouraged to free our minds, expand our views, connect with like-minded others and consider alternative ways of expression. Our analytical and inquisitive energy is magnified, igniting our inspirational visions while encouraging us to embrace unique concepts. Greater humanitarian, artistic and spiritual energy can now be felt as well, helping us to advance our personal and global goals for 2020! * 16 March (15th in U.S.A): Mercury goes into Pisces — Thoughtful Sensitivity! With the planet of expression moving into sensitive Pisces, we’re encouraged to honour our feelings and bring our visualizations into manifestation! Our thoughts and communications are now more intuitive, tender-hearted, spiritually focused and perceptive. This marks a new cycle of empathy and greater appreciation of our imaginations, creativity, visual sense and meditative mindset. We are more responsive to gentler, kinder, sympathetic connections and in turn we reach out with greater love and affectionate expression to those we care about. This is the opportunity to revitalize our feeling and compassionate nature, to align more with our creative and spiritual center and to express more of our emotional, imaginative and artistic viewpoints. * 20 March (19th in U.S.A): Sun into Aries — Equinox Celebration! As the Sun now shifts into dynamic and energetic Aries, we change seasons and are given a prime time for fresh starts, initiating new projects, releasing fear and doubt and taking on new exciting endeavours! As we find ourselves at a time of celebrating both equal day and night, we are encouraged to seek more equilibrium within our lives also. This vibrant occasion actually marks the start of a new Astrological year (as the first sign of the zodiac is Aries!) and the beginning of an empowering period of activation! Greater courage can be felt now as we overcome challenges that have previously held us back. This is a transformational period where our braver and more pioneering spirits can emerge, moving forward with fearless energy! This is a great time to begin new endeavours and to consider ways of strengthening your self belief! (The Sun will be in Aries until 23 April).
* 22 March (21st in U.S.A): Saturn into Aquarius — Collective Consciousness! As Saturn moves from conservative Capricorn into liberal Aquarius, we’ll experience further concern for our society, each other and our life on this Earth. Greater humanitarian, socially empathetic and altruistic endeavours are forthcoming. This cycle will focus on gaining awareness of the importance of each individual, cultivating greater tolerance, broad-mindedness, liberalism and working toward a collective consciousness — shared beliefs and attributes that can unite us rather than divide us. A detachment from the old ways of doing things in favour of new innovation will also be seen. Additionally, new technological and scientific advances will will mark this period along with new methods of working toward the betterment of society. Saturn in Aquarius will go Retrograde 11 May 2020, backing into Capricorn 2 July 2020, then going Direct in Capricorn on 29 September and then finally back into Aquarius on 17 December 2020. It will remain in Aquarius 7 March 2023.
* 24 March: New Moon in Aries — Embrace New Beginnings! Each month, at the time of a New Moon, we’re offered the chance to begin again! Just like the start of a new year, the power of this New Moon gives us a clean slate for initiating our goals, restarting our resolutions and launching more of our dreams! In the sign of energizing Aries especially, this is an exciting opportunity to rev your engines, plan your take-off and reboot your life! Use this Lunar energy to begin moving forward with greater confidence, breaking out of your shell and instigating new adventures! Get your intentions sorted and make an effort to alter your routine! Start something today that will help empower yourself, further your goals and align yourself with more positive action!
* 31 March (30th in U.S.A): Mars goes into Aquarius — Break On Through! As the planet representing energy and action moves into the sign associated with breaking down barriers and greater individualism, we start a new cycle of freedom. * Jupiter in Capricorn: With the expansiveness of Jupiter now moving through the serious sign of Capricorn, we let go of the fantasies and delusions and get real with our dreams and desires. This is the of the true Reality Check! For the next year, we will be more focused on results, factual truths and down-to-earth practicality. This is a cycle of responsibility, duty and improved morality — especially regarding those in power. As Capricorn is an Earth sign, we’ll be focusing on better ways to organize our lives while embracing greater security and stability and structure. We will now be concentrating on steady growth, working on long term goals and improving the rules we live by. Because we’ll be more hard working, dedicated and serious, we’ll have a better chance of success, progress and material well-being. This is also a great occasion for personal improvement and embarking on important and substantial new methods of individual growth, learning and development. Use this Jupiter/Capricorn period to reap the benefits of lessons learned from the past, helping advance your goals and find ways to improve all areas of your life! * Saturn is in Capricorn/Aquarius: As the planet representing responsibility, maturity and structure continues its travels through its ruling sign of Capricorn, we’re encouraged to focus on the practicalities of life. For the next 7 years this Uranus/Taurus pairing highlights liberation from the customary way of doing things in favor of new methods and inventive techniques. Also, as Taurus rules our personal values, creativity, material goods, finances, food and general enjoyment, we will see new innovations in these areas. Uranus will seek to shift the security-conscious/money-minded principles of the Bull by remodeling the way we handle our resources, material wealth and investment interests. We can expect a new wave of economic innovation helping us to focus on being more authentic and practical in our approach to things. Shifting themes of how we view stability will certainly be a feature in our future, so expect change, revolution and acts of defiance. Be ready to adapt rather than fighting to hang onto the old ways of being! Remember: Change equals opportunity! Uranus will be going Retrograde until 11 January 2020 and will be in the sign of Taurus until 7 July 2025.
* Neptune is in Pisces: The planet ruling dreams and creativity continues its transit through its ruling sign of Pisces, encouraging us to honour more of our spiritual awareness, artistic inspiration and intuitive insight! Greater appreciation for the beauty around us as well as within us is also emphasized. We are urged to feel and express greater “we-are-all-one” compassion toward ourselves and others — along with further sympathetic understanding and involvement with humanitarian endeavours. Neptune will be going Retrograde until 26 November 2019. During this “backward” cycle we are urged to readdress all the above issues and re-evaluate how we plan to manifest our hopes and dreams. Greater focus on our faith, spirituality and need for understanding is highlighted! Neptune will be in Pisces until 31 March 2025.
* Pluto is in Capricorn: As the planet of Transformation continues its travels through the sober sign of Capricorn, we reexamine serious issues and concerns regarding the positive changes we would like to make to ourselves and our world. The overall theme of this cycle is uncovering the misuse of power and authority to enable change for the better. It represents a major time of rediscovery, review and reconsideration that brings transformation to our society, government, world order and Mother Earth. It also pushes us to think about the changes we want to make to our belief structures and our power as individuals and as citizens of the world. Pluto will continue to be in Capricorn until 24 March 2023.
* Chiron is in Aries: As the minor planet/comet Chiron, connected to the archetype of the “wounded healer” moves through the independent, assertive and aggressive fire sign of Aries, our identities are highlighted. During this time we’ll have greater opportunity to overcome personal obstacles, discover new strength, manifest healing and further self confidence. Chiron is said to act as a link between the conscious and unconscious and as such, can represent transformation in body, mind and soul. As we surmount challenges, we find greater empowerment, advancing our unique spirits while manifesting more of our dreams. Chiron will be in Aries until 2027.
