MAY 2020 Motivational Astrology Forecast
Baby Steps!
“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together!” — Vincent Van Gogh
May is the month that reminds us that “life is a marathon, not a sprint”. Ambitious goals can’t be accomplished overnight, and we need to be mindful that it’s the small steps that bring big rewards. The way to successfully accomplish a goal is by consistently taking one stride forward at a time, methodically advancing in the proper direction. This requires thought, patience and planning — as opposed to rushing into a situation without a proper course of action to follow. Every “baby step” that is made and completed is a “win” that builds momentum for the next milestone in your activity.
“Going small” rather than “going big” doesn’t seem very exciting, especially when we’re impatient to get swift results. Often in our desire to find a fast solution or make a quick fix we overlook important factors that can backfire on us. We end up having to backtrack and redo, taking more time than if we’d just been more deliberate in the first place. Great things are not done by impulse. By thoroughly considering our long term goals with factual information and patient discipline we create a big upward spiral of successful gains — all because we took “baby steps’!
Astrologically, May urges us to make small, thoughtful, prudent increments in our advances forward in order to achieve better results. With the unusual Saturn in Aquarius going Retrograde, Jupiter in Capricorn going Retrograde, Venus in Gemini going Retrograde along with Pluto in Capricorn Retrograde we are asked to carefully review and reconsider before making major decisions. With Mars in Pisces also, we are prompted to keep objectives clear, matters above board and emotions in check.
What more can we learn from the Astrological energies in the weeks ahead and their impact on You? Here’s Your May 2020 Motivational Astrology forecast:
* 7 May: Full Moon in Scorpio — Delving Deeper! This Full Moon, in the powerful sign of Scorpio, encourages us to come to terms with our powerful emotions, deep feelings and strong sensitivities. We now embark on a cycle of reconstruction as we delve into our inner workings and shed any inauthentic parts of ourselves. This large Lunar light illuminates areas that need dispelling from our lives: worry, fear, anger, self doubt, selfishness or possessiveness. This is an intense time but a necessary one in order to rid ourselves of spiritual blockages and intellectual ruts in order to encourage positive transformation in our lives. Consider what you have recently been saying, thinking, doing or creating in your life and if it is in keeping with the true you. If your self-love energies have been lacking, this is the time for casting off whatever is keeping you from believing, appreciating and honouring the magic of you!
* 11 May (10th in U.S.A): Saturn in Aquarius Retrogrades — Reworking the Structures! As the planet representing structure, stability, responsibilities and those in ‘positions of power’ starts its Retrograde motion, we’ll be focusing on reworking our guidelines and leadership direction for the time ahead. In the innovative sign of Aquarius (and then backing into Capricorn), Saturn will be urging us to reconsider what is no longer working in our lives and what we can do to improve ourselves and our course of action now for a better future tomorrow. This is a time of considerable social change, but also research into new methods for solving old problems and revamping technological and scientific projects. Saturn is the teacher — asking us to be responsible — and helping us to grow through past mistakes, failures and hardships. By using the knowledge that we gain from these experiences, we can acquire greater wisdom, self awareness, patience and finally, advancement. Saturn in Aquarius Retrogrades 11 May 2020, backing into Capricorn 2 July 2020, then going Direct in Capricorn on 29 September and then finally back into Aquarius on 17 December 2020. It will remain in Aquarius 7 March 2023.
* 12 May (11th in U.S.A): Mercury goes into Gemini — Sharing Your Prospective! As the planet governing communications moves into its ruling sign of expressive Gemini, we’re better able to articulate our ideas, share our thoughts and advance our viewpoints! This is a great time for opening our minds to insightful information, expanding our interests, taking on a writing project and in general making educational decisions. We’ll be eager to embrace the concept of “variety is the spice of life”, making us impatient to socializing and to verbalize our hopes and plans with greater agility and finesse! This is the green light for speaking up, being heard and sharing your insights while at the same time enriching your self expression. Allow your curiosity to flourish by saying YES to new possibilities, friendships and enriching endeavours! Your thoughts and wisdom counts! (Mercury will be in Gemini until 29 May).
* 13 May (12th in U.S.A): Mars goes into Pisces — Activate your Dreams! With the planet Mars ruling our desires, drive and determination pairing up with the mystical and imaginative sign of Pisces, we can embark on a period of greater spiritual and intuitive exploration. With the energy planet connecting with this sensitive water sign, we’re compelled by what affects our souls — bringing change from the inside out! The weeks ahead give us the opportunity to “dream our lives” in a new direction, expressing greater sensitivity and compassion toward ourselves, each other and the world. It’s also a magical time for musical or artistic activity, or any type of expressive movement. Begin your manifesting — bringing those visions of what you want your life to be — healthy, happy, abundant — into reality! (Mars will be in Pisces until 28 June).
* 13 May (12th in U.S.A): Venus in Gemini goes Retrograde — What do you Value? Just like your life’s experiences foster your values and beliefs, your dreams and visions have an enormous impact on your life. As the planet representing love, creativity and values does a backward dance into thought-provoking and conversational-ruling Gemini, we’re asked to review matters that are important in our lives: the way we express ourselves, the things we think about, how we communicate and the information that we share. For the next 6 weeks we are urged to reexamine and verify the evidence, findings and facts that we are being given and what needs to be reviewed and what new insights need to be brought to light. With all Retrogrades, there is a feeling of turning inward — examining ourselves, our desires, dreams and our demons. This serves to help us make adjustments, get back on track and move forward with greater strength when Venus goes Direct on 25 June.
* 15 May (14th in U.S.A): Jupiter in Capricorn goes Retrograde — Review Responsibilities! As the planet representing authority and knowledge starts its “backward” motion in the serious sign of Capricorn, we review matters regarding the structures, resources and securities of our lives. This Retrograde period is a time of reflection and introspection on what represents growth and success in our lives. This is a time to reconsider the path that we are on and to readdress our futures with greater down-to-earth practicality. Issues highlighting the appropriate handing of responsibility, duty and accountability — especially from those in power — come into focus and will need to be addressed. This significant transit indicates that extra time, attention and thought to the details of life and what is required to take stock of important issues will be needed before growth and advancement can be achieved. (Jupiter will be Retrograde in Capricorn until 13 September.
* 21 May (20th in U.S.A): Sun goes into Gemini — Be True to YOU! What do you know to be true about yourself? Belief is either empowering or limiting. Are you aware of your attributes or do you find yourself demeaning your abilities? Find out as we begin a new chapter for recognizing greater self-belief, realizing more of our unique skills and reinforcing positive thoughts. We can empower ourselves now by understanding that our believes are what give us wings or ground us. How we think and feel about ourselves is what makes it so. As the Sun moves into Gemini we are offered a clearer view about who we are, how we think, better ways to communicate and how to more fully express our energies and knowledge. (The Sun will be in Gemini until 21 June).
* 23 May (22nd in U.S.A): New Moon in Gemini — The Gift of Wisdom! Sharing individual as well as communal knowledge, creating better communications with those we care about and embracing new ideas is highlighted! We now begin a new cycle of greater expression, awareness and understanding — of ourselves and those in our lives. This beautiful occasion encourages greater connection (virtual or otherwise!) with others and opening up to share mutual knowledge, thoughts, feelings, experiences and philosophies. Give the gift of your personal wisdom to those who can benefit from it now while envisioning a more positive and prosperous future! Allow this lunar energy to assist you in gaining greater enlightenment, mindfulness and the joy that comes with the promise of new possibilities!
* 29 May (28th in U.S.A.): Mercury goes into Cancer– Thinking with Feeling! A favourable new cycle begins for encouraging our inner voice and expressing more of our caring and nurturing thoughts. We now open up to greater emotion, intuition and sharing of feelings. It’s a good time to observe how we perceive, process and interact with loved ones while reflecting and reconsidering what is and isn’t working in our relationships. We are urged not to get stuck in the past, hold grudges or be held back by old wounds. Instead we are encouraged to move forward with greater ways of connecting with those in our lives. In the weeks ahead we can find better understanding and perhaps compromise in matters of home, family and love. (Mercury will be in Cancer until 5 August).
* The Outer Planets stay in a sign for a longer period of time, so their effect on us is more gradual, but significant none the less. Here they are in their current positions:
* Jupiter in Capricorn (going Retrograde 15 May): With the expansiveness of Jupiter now moving through the serious sign of Capricorn, we let go of the fantasies and delusions and get real with our dreams and desires. This is the of the true Reality Check! For the next year, we will be more focused on results, factual truths and down-to-earth practicality. This is a cycle of responsibility, duty and improved morality — especially regarding those in power. As Capricorn is an Earth sign, we’ll be focusing on better ways to organize our lives while embracing greater security and stability and structure. We will now be concentrating on steady growth, working on long term goals and improving the rules we live by.
As Jupiter goes Retrograde, we review matters regarding the structures, resources and securities of our lives. Jupiter will be Retrograde until 13 September 2020. Jupiter will be in Capricorn until 20 December 2020.
* Saturn is in Aquarius (Going Retrograde 11 May) With Saturn in Aquarius we’ll experience further concern for our society, each other and our life on this Earth. Greater humanitarian, socially empathetic and altruistic endeavours will be forthcoming. This cycle will focus on gaining awareness of the importance of each individual, cultivating greater tolerance, broad-mindedness, liberalism and working toward a collective consciousness — shared beliefs and attributes that can unite us rather than divide us. As this planet representing structure, stability, responsibilities and those in ‘positions of power’ starts its Retrograde motion, we’ll be focusing on reworking our guidelines and leadership direction for the time ahead.
* Uranus is in Taurus: The planet signifying change, revolution and innovation is moving through the sign representing its opposite — stability, assurance and safeguarding! For the next 7 years this Uranus/Taurus pairing highlights liberation from the customary way of doing things in favor of new methods and inventive techniques. Also, as Taurus rules our personal values, creativity, material goods, finances, food and general enjoyment, we will see new innovations in these areas. Uranus will seek to shift the security-conscious/money-minded principles of the Bull by remodeling the way we handle our resources, material wealth and investment interests. We can expect a new wave of economic innovation helping us to focus on being more authentic and practical in our approach to things. Shifting themes of how we view stability will certainly be a feature in our future, so expect change, revolution and acts of defiance. Be ready to adapt rather than fighting to hang onto the old ways of being! Remember: Change equals opportunity! Uranus will be going Retrograde until 11 January 2020 and will be in the sign of Taurus until 7 July 2025.
* Neptune is in Pisces: The planet ruling dreams and creativity continues its transit through its ruling sign of Pisces, encouraging us to honour more of our spiritual awareness, artistic inspiration and intuitive insight! Greater appreciation for the beauty around us as well as within us is also emphasized. We are urged to feel and express greater “we-are-all-one” compassion toward ourselves and others — along with further sympathetic understanding and involvement with humanitarian endeavours. Greater focus on our faith, spirituality and need for understanding of one another is highlighted! Neptune will be in Pisces until 31 March 2025.
* Pluto is in Capricorn going Retrograde As the planet of Transformation continues its long journey through this sober sign, going Retrograde from now until 3 October 2020, we get serious about making positive changes to ourselves, our leaders and our world. The overall theme of this cycle is uncovering the misuse of power, greed and corruption to bring reform and grow our overall progress. It represents a major time of rediscovery, review and reconsideration that brings transformation to our society, government, world order and Mother Earth. It also pushes us to think about the changes we want to make to our belief structures and our power as individuals and as citizens of the world. Pluto will continue to be in Capricorn until 24 March 2023.
* Chiron is in Aries: As the minor planet/comet Chiron, connected to the archetype of the “wounded healer” moves through the independent, assertive and aggressive fire sign of Aries, our identities are highlighted. During this time we’ll have greater opportunity to overcome personal obstacles, discover new strength, manifest healing and further self confidence. Chiron is said to act as a link between the conscious and unconscious and as such, can represent transformation in body, mind and soul. As we surmount challenges, we find greater empowerment, advancing our unique spirits while manifesting more of our dreams. Chiron will be in Aries until 2027.
*Blessings to You and Yours for a Meaningful May! You are Loved and Appreciated!*
